Are You A Craigslist User?

Am I the only one feeling that the dynamic of CL’s pet section has changed so much to the worse in the last 6-12 month? If you feel I am, skip this article and continue reading fun stuff on this blog.
Once upon a time the pet section CL was a great place for well educated and tolerant people to look around for all kind of pet related items, services, and of course for pets to adopt. Nowadays it seems like CL is overpopulated by a bunch of extremists who abuse the CL flag system and turn so many people away from this site. Not that I want to get into politics but what happened to the freedom of speech? It is scary how many dangerous people are out there who want to controll the mind of others and eliminate you when you have a different opinion. A lot of bad history has been made by people like that.
Who ever this people are they don’t only turn away regular users but also endanger a lot of potential adoptions.
It would not surprise me if the pet section of CL would be only visited by rescue groups in the near future, but I can not imagine that one rescue group will adopt from another and wise versa. But what else will there be left?

CL has definitely turned me off. The pet section especially but the overall site in general.
They could fix it but won’t. I’ve gotten tired of writing to them to do so, they never read it. (too busy cashing checks?)
The voting system needs an overhaul. One wacko and their friends can get rid of any post they please. So me that a post has had negative votes, if its a good one, I could then vote on it. Also, to give a vote, you must be logged in. Then I can limit your negative votes, if I see abuse of it.

Hi Beate, we spoke on Thursday. I sent you the links to the 2 sites, did you get them? I also sent a fairly well written post that was a survey and it got flagged as well. As we agree, you can’t even ask these people a question. They get furious and have the world flag you, then have people calling US names and in the end the post you were writing or the one you wanted to read gets lost in the argument. It is sad, then new people come on, without knowledge and jump on you as well. It is truly sad. I think everyone should have to create an account and if your account has negative feedback, a certain amount, you can’t post for X amount of days. It should be enhanced as a GROUP as well. My thought would be registerring rescues/shelters so that X amount of computers/users count as one. If they don’t, they can’t post at all. What do you think? That may they can’t just go home and pretend it is OK. If they do and get caught, they are suspended for a longer time. They should also be limited to the amount of posts they can do in a day, if left unflagged.
