Cotton Tail Cat Show in Duluth/Lawrenceville
12 Nov 2008

Is the time of the glamorous cat shows over or did we just have one too many in the Metro Atlanta area in 2008? I’m used to volunteer at the Gwinnett County Cotton Tail Cat Show in the Civic Center in Duluth/Lawrenceville year after year. The Georgia Network of Professional Pet Sitters traditionally has a booth there and every year I look forward to hand out business cards and brochures. Most of all however I love to see all the beautiful cats and the vendors offering items for each cat lover. Also the local cat rescues have many cats there for the right home. When I arrived at the show last weekend I was surprised already not to see so many of the rescues present but my surprise got even bigger when I realized that there were a lot less vendors as usually. Last not least only a few visitors stepped by at our booth and seemed not very interested to hear what we have to offer. Are people just overwhelmed, does the city of Atlanta and its suburbs offer to many shows, or what possible reason could the cutback of exhibitors and visitors have?
